Doctors treat patients. Epidemiologists treat populations! The Visitor & Education Center at the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention serves as the gateway to the CDC’s main Atlanta campus. On three levels, 18,000 square feet of interpretive spaces immerse visitors in the dynamic world of public health practiced on a global scale.

Visitors are greeted by a spectacular rear-projection screen wall arching through the Center’s main atrium, offering a vivid cross-section of the world that moves from the microbial to the continental. Downstairs, Bio-Containment Theater takes visitors inside a faux high security lab to experience laboratorians handling the world’s most dangerous agents.
