Hilferty is breaking new ground as we interpret the striking landscapes and biological diversity of the Mojave Desert’s Red Rock Canyon. Rather than pointing visitors to a trail, the Visitor Center is the trail. Working with project architects, Hilferty is designing innovative indoor/outdoor experiences in tempered microclimates that introduce visitors to this land of extremes, where elemental forces of Earth, Air, Fire, and Water challenge inhabitants to adapt in order to survive. All the while they explore the Center, visitors marvel at the signature views of Red Rock’s Calico Hills and surrounding Spring Mountains.
